It was a big weekend for Kalamunda “Bulls” Rugby Union Club with 3 teams progressing through to Grand Finals.
Two Semi-finals were hosted by the Bulls at Hartfield Park on Saturday with the Fortescue Metal Group Reserves playing Joondalup for a position in the GF. Last week, Joondalup thrashed a depleted Bulls team 78-19. It was a different story this week with a full and raring Bulls squad on the paddock seeking vindication. Despite the fact that Joondalup had a number of first grade players in their squad, the Kalamunda Bulls were the dominate team and in a hard fought match came out on top 18 – 16 to progress through to the grand finale against Palmyra this Sunday.
Following this superb effort the 1st grade come out against the minor premiers Nedlands and like the reserve grade were able to dominate much of the game ending deserved winners 24-19. They will challenge Associates for the Premiership.
On Sunday after the successful performance on Saturday, the Bulls 3rd Grade played against the Coastal Cavaliers and ended up victors 22-20. They will take on Wanneroo for the pennants and bragging rights.
All games will be played at Bayswater RFC Sunday 26th.
The Kalamunda Kweens women’s team were unable to make the grand final going down to a well drilled Nedlands squad 13-8.
A successful weekend for the Kalamunda Bulls showing the depth of the playing squad at the Club.
The only down side for the weekend was the news that Club stalwart Andy Todd (affectional known as “Toddy” ) passed away not long after hearing the news about the success of the teams on Saturday. We all know he will be watching over the teams next weekend. RIP Toddy.
