March 2016

The new season is fast approaching and with it a new look clubhouse under Mark Skiba’s hands, coaching staff under Josh and committee & players.

One further major asset is the new lighting enabling a high lux night game to be played on No 1 ground.

The academy has been running over the off season alongside a very well supported touch comp.

It has also been decided to do a bit of a makeover inside the clubrooms this will be completed by the end of March with a working bee planned for  Saturday March 12th followed by a night game trail for 3rds and 4ths starting at 6pm against Rocky at the club.

Our in house caterer sees a return of Nat Williams and her team who cooked up a storm at the home games in the past. Stand by to be treated to some extra kilos to help survive the winter.

Pre season training has started and the bar is open from 6.30 – 8.30 on Thursday.

A number of new players have joined our ranks so please say hello and introduce yourself.

Sponsorship is tight this year as the economy is affecting business and families alike. The club needs funds so please support the club in anyway that you can even to the buying of one raffle ticket it all helps. Our assessment is it costs around $500 to put a senior player on the park so at $380 for membership we are well short on recovery.

A new initiative is to drive social membership that have a few benefits attached. Standby to hear about a chance at some prizes for being a member and also know that you are then genuinely a true member of the Kala Bulls.

We would like to reinvigorate the Red & Black Club and try to revert back to the initial idea of one senior player to be paired with Red & Black member. This had a number of good positives in the past. We are now looking for commitments for this year  and the amount of $500 is the same amount as previous years.

As previous years the functions will be a Red & Black, players & sponsors lunch with Wallaby guest in April. Some sideline functions & test lunch club polo & tie (new innovation) I will email all of last year’s members in due course. If you know of any prospective Red & Black members please let me know.

Pre season games are on 12th March at home for 3rds and 4ths against Rockingham, 31st and then 19th March Vs Perth/Bayswater again at home and a full club hit out.
