Our Kala - Premature Premiers
Wednesday, July 30th, 2008Our Kala - Premature Premiers
Our first ever finish at the top of the table, Kala grabbed an historic
Minor Premiership this weekend – and with two weeks to spare!
These players committed themselves to being their best, and with coach Paul
King, Captain Jamie McQueen, managers and other support staff they have
surely satisfied that goal. The team has played attractive and adventurous
footy, characterised by high risk / high reward tactics reliant on good skills,
discipline and mobile team-supportive players.
The two top senior teams have had a particularly close relationship. The firsts
have reached deep into the seconds for support throughout the season. It has
exposed many of those players to the opportunities, challenges, rewards and
responsibilities involved with playing in a team that wants to be the best and is
near the top of its game.
The Bulls Academy trained every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from
October 2007 through to February this year, then in their squads Tuesdays
and Thursdays from February onwards. The Academy included players from
16 years through to seniors and they all put in the hard yards – fitness, skills,
set plays and game plans and strategy. Simply - loads of hard work!
Congratulations, applause and best wishes to OUR teams for the finals.
