On Thursday 23rd July 2020 the extensions to the Club House were officially opened by Ken Wyatt MP; Minister for Aboriginal Affairs & Margaret Thomas Mayor of the City of Kalamunda.

The new facilities include unisex changing rooms, showers and toilet; unisex referees room, showers & toilet and unisex disability toilet facilities and parents room.
​
The facilities are primarily for use by our women’s teams and guests but will also be utilised by the men.
​
In addition to these new facilities, we have sealed the driveway and car parking area, created 2 disability parking bays; built access pathways and widened doorways to ensure access for wheelchairs.
​
This whole process was funded by Grants from Aus Sports and the City of Kalamunda. Aus Sports funding the new building requirements with a $180,000 grant and the City of Kalamunda funding the access ways, car park and disability parking with a $85,000 Grant.
​
This whole process has taken nearly 6 years of discussions, councillor meetings & negotiations, grant applications and permit approvals from many different government departments to be able to get to the easy part – the build itself!
​
We have been able to complete the build on budget due to the hard work of many Club members who have out their time and money into ensuring we have a result that we can all be proud of!
​
The New facilities have been named in Honour or Andrew (Andy Todd), lifelong member and sponsor of the Club who passed away in 2019. Michelle Todd unveiled the plaque and along with Ken Wyatt & Margaret Thomas cut the ribbon to open the facilities.

The Referees facilities have been named in honour of Julie Skiba for her services to Rugby WA Referees Association over many years. Julie is also a member of Kalamunda Rugby.
​
The Official opening was well attended by members old and new. It commenced with a Welcome to Country by Kim Collard CEO of Kulbardi and founder of the Bibbulmun Fund; followed by brief speeches by Graham England (Club President); Ken Wyatt and Margaret Thomas.

Gareth McRae – who prepared and submitted the tender documentation on the Clubs behalf

Brendon Scott –project managed; negotiated with the City of Kalamunda and various Government Departments to ensure the build was completed to the Clubs satisfaction.

2 Club members need special recognition for the hundreds of hours of their own time they have spent physically building the facilities. These are Richard (Worzel) Coney and Barry Jordan.
