Under 7's win in Bunbury 2021

Bunbury Junior 7's Tournament 2021 Bulls Success!!!

This year’s Junior Bunbury 7s tournament was highly successful for the two touring teams from Kalamunda Districts Rugby Union Club. The Tournament was well run by the host Bunbury Barbarians Junior Rugby Union Club over the 17th and 18th of July at Leschenault Sports Complex. The tournament was well attended with 11 Clubs from across Perth and the South West in three divisions. The Bulls had teams in Under 8’s and Under 10’s. The Tournament opened with a well received Acknowledgement to Country in Noongar from Lara Riley and Haka performed by Kapa Haka group Taatai Heke.

The Kalamunda Under 8’s team scored strongly during the rounds and only conceded 4 tries over the 7 games. Ultimately winning through to the Final against Mandurah Pirates where they prevailed in a tense affair, taking the Cup 10-5 despite some key injuries to remain undefeated for the weekend.

Kalamunda Under 10’s went undefeated throughout the pools stages and continued that stellar form through the Semi-Final against North Coast setting up the Final against Joondalup Brothers Blue whom in a tough physical contest they defeated to win the Cup.

Both teams enjoyed the spirit of the game playing with their friends, learning more about themselves, and playing rugby in general – these are the Club's future.  The Kalamunda Bulls have been mentioned highly by other Clubs for their support and inclusive behaviour as represented by the show of support with North Coast throughout their Final games.

Special mention and much appreciation to the Coaches and Managers who without their time, patience, and support our teams would not be successful.

Under 8’s Finnbar, Crystal & Kate

Under 10’s Dave & Liz
